Centered in the metropolitan area of Anchorage, and located on the Eagle River
itself, is the booming community of Eagle River. One of Alaska’s five largest
cities in itself if it wasn’t part of the Municipality of Anchorage, Eagle River
is home to about 25,000 residents although many folks find homes just outside
the limits in neighboring communities such as Chugiak, Peters Creek and of
course Anchorage itself.
Eagle River is certainly a community in of itself with movie theaters, shopping
amenities for everyone, local coffee shops and great dining experiences. No
matter what you’re looking for, there is no reason to travel too far when you
live in Eagle River. The town offers many local and nationally recognized shops
such as the neighborhood Wal-Mart, Safeway and Fred Meyers. Can’t think of

Eagle River is home to several schools, as well as the Eagle River high school,
charter schools and many elementary schools. Although the Eagle River schools
fall under the Anchorage School District, there are many choices of where to

Center. This organization provides local connections to nature through their
interpretive and interactive education as well as resource protection. This
state park, one of Alaska’s largest, is located about 12 miles from Eagle River
and provides views of the breath-taking mountains, hiking and biking
opportunities, weekly events and a true connection with our outdoors.
